Peter Knorringa is professor of Private Sector and Development and member of the Civic Innovation Research Initiative (CIRI) at the International Institute of Social Studies (Erasmus University Rotterdam).
Currently, he conducts research on:
- how the shift from standard 'takers' to standard 'makers' of corporations, NGOs and consumers in China, India and Brazil affects development; and
- how frugal innovations can contribute to sustainable development.
For the latter, research is conducted at CFIA, of which he is the Director. Peter leads the Consumer Behaviour project, examining among others ways to identify demand for frugal innovation.
