Job title
ICFI Co-director I Leiden University André Leliveld is a senior researcher at the African Studies Centre Leiden (ASCL) and co-director of ICFI.
His research focuses on:
- the contribution of frugal innovations to African economies, especially those of East Africa;
- the impact of the community-based health insurance system in Togo on the health and economic status of participants;
- what political leverage do informal workers associations have in Ghana and Benin; and
- m-health solutions for preventing and treating schistosomiasis and related diseases, in the context of which he leads the M-Health combating schistosomiasis in Southern Chad project.
